Description

This panel-mount DC barrel power cable is designed for chassis and equipment panel installation, providing a secure and durable external DC power input interface for internal device wiring. It features a threaded 5.5×2.1mm female DC jack on one end that mounts through a panel cutout, and stripped tinned wire leads on the other end for direct connection to internal power boards, drivers or terminal blocks. It is widely used in security surveillance equipment, industrial control enclosures, LED lighting systems, smart home devices and custom electronics enclosures.

The DC jack end features a threaded barrel design with a hex fixing nut and sealing washer, allowing it to be securely mounted to equipment panels, chassis walls, junction boxes and enclosure surfaces. Once installed, the jack sits flush on the outside of the panel while the cable extends into the equipment interior, creating a clean, professional power input point that resists pulling, vibration and accidental disconnection. This design also protects the internal circuit board from wear caused by repeated plugging and unplugging of external power adapters.

Internally, the cable uses high-purity stranded copper conductors with red and black polarity identification for easy and accurate internal wiring. The standard 20AWG version is suitable for most 12V and 24V low-power applications including CCTV cameras, LED drivers and small industrial controllers. The 18AWG heavy-duty version is available for higher-current devices and longer internal wiring runs where lower voltage drop is required. Both versions are rated for typical low-voltage DC systems up to 30V.

The outer jacket is made of flexible PVC material with good abrasion resistance and insulation performance, suitable for indoor and protected enclosure environments. Optional waterproof versions with IP65/IP67 rating and dust caps are available for outdoor and harsh environment installations, providing additional protection against moisture, dust and vibration.

This panel-mount DC power cable is compatible with all standard 5.5×2.1mm DC power adapters and plugs. Standard cable lengths include 10cm, 15cm, 30cm and 50cm to suit different enclosure depths and internal wiring layouts. Custom sizes including 5.5×2.5mm and 3.5×1.35mm connector options, different wire gauges, lengths and jacket colors are available for bulk OEM orders.

FAQ

Q: What is a panel-mount DC barrel power cable used for?

A: It provides a secure external DC power input interface on equipment panels and chassis, with internal pigtail leads for connecting to power boards, drivers and terminal blocks inside the device.

Q: How is it installed?

A: It mounts through a drilled panel cutout. The threaded jack passes through the hole from the outside, and a hex nut on the inside tightens to secure it firmly to the panel.

Q: What connector size is standard?

A: The standard size is 5.5×2.1mm, the most common DC barrel interface. 5.5×2.5mm and 3.5×1.35mm sizes are available for bulk orders.

Q: Can I use this for 12V and 24V devices?

A: Yes, it is designed for low-voltage DC systems and is suitable for 12V, 24V and other DC voltages up to 30V within the current rating.

Q: Is there a waterproof version?

A: Yes, IP65 and IP67 rated versions with dust caps are available for outdoor and harsh environment installations.

Q: What lengths are available?

A: Standard lengths include 10cm, 15cm, 30cm and 50cm. Custom lengths are available for bulk OEM orders.

Q: Do you support custom orders?

A: Yes, we support custom connector sizes, wire gauges, cable lengths, waterproof ratings, jacket colors and private-label packaging for bulk OEM orders.
